Wild Anxiety

I'm Sheridan Sinclair Harris, a highly anxious wife & mom of 2 boys. As a child, I showed all of the red flags for anxiety disorder, but wasn't diagnosed until the age of 26. Over time I'd developed strong coping skills in walking, running, yoga, group fitness and biking. On February 15. 2023, my life was traumatically changed when a car carelessly ran through a pedestrian crosswalk, hitting me and my bike. The car never stopped.

I had no idea where to go first or who to reach out to. It was all like a very complicated game of risk. After months of surgeries, physical therapy and doctor visits I'm ready to share my survival guidebook with people like you. I'm a survivor. I'm a differently-abled person. I'm on a journey to victory.

How am Differently Abled?

My fight for qualified, caring doctors who support my Chronic Pain Journey has been difficult. In October 2024, I was ultimately diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. In my case, CRPS was caused by my bike being thrown into my right thigh from under the car. I experience a variety of symptoms from stinging/aching deep inside my leg and foot, limited mobility, nervous system impairment and extreme changes in sensitivity. In November 2024, I'll start the journey to living with a neuromodulation device. My care team, family and myself have chosen to test a spinal cord stimulator, which will require surgery and a recovery period. Spinal cord stimulators work to mask pain signals through small electrical pulses. I'm sharing this journey, because I want to encourage people who are struggling with their mental or physical health to feel seen and affirmed. I want to become a sounding board for chronic pain and mental health issues in the Memphis community.
